Arrival in İstanbul
In order to your request, one of the İmplant Academy taxi drivers will meet you at the airport arrivals. The taxi driver will be holding a card bearing your name and the words “İmplant Akademi”. You will then be driven either to your hotel or directly to the Clinic, depending on your first appointment time.
Consultation
Upon arrival at the Clinic, once your details have been registered, your dental assistant will take your orthopantomography x-ray and show you to your dentist’s surgery for your consultation. Your dentist will make an oral examination and evaluate your x-ray and discuss with you your wishes and requirements. You may also need further consultation with our Oral Surgeon, Endodontist, or Periodontist. If necessary, we can take a Cone Beam CT image of your cranium which can facilitate diagnoses in the case of possible implantation and root canal treatment.
Treatment Plan
Based on your consultation(s), your dentist will formulate your treatment plan. You will be given all relevant information explaining the treatment(s) and then have the opportunity to discuss this plan with your dentist(s). Once you are happy with the treatment prescribed and have agreed upon the plan, you will be given your appointment times. On signing the treatment plan, the patient should pay 50% of the total amount for that first stage. The remaining 50% is payable on completing that stage.
It really depends on you. We can help with a wide selection of accommodation ranging from basic (3 stars) up to luxurious (5 stars) if you need help with your stay. We provide a list of local hotels that are close to our clinic. We can reserve a hotel room for you in various price categories and within easy reach of the clinic.
It depends on the extent of the dental treatment. You will get a timeline together with the cost estimate as well as any further and necessary information.
Usually, you need to plan a stay for a week, but some treatments may require more time.
Some factors cannot be foreseen, which may influence your timeline. E.g.: root canal treatment, inflammations, periodontitis, your medical condition, etc.
Dental Treatment
Your dental treatment will proceed according to your treatment plan. If any changes are necessary, you will be informed of the reason for this change and will have the opportunity to discuss the consequences. Your plan will then be amended and you should sign a copy to formally agree to the changes. The number of appointment times required depends on the nature and progress of your treatment. Should you feel the need to discuss or review your treatment at any stage, the İmplant Akademi team is always ready to help you.
Finishing Treatment and Payment
Once you have completed the treatment stage, your dental bill is calculated and you should settle your bill for that stage. Payments can be made by credit/debit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express), cash, or both. If you have received a permanent restoration such as crown and bridgework, dentures, or combination work, then you will also receive a guarantee paper and information on maintaining your new dental work. Any additional aftercare information about other work carried out will also be given to you.
Our invoices will generally be accepted by foreign health insurance companies. However, we suggest that you consult your health insurance company before dental treatment in Turkey, and bring along the documents required. We will gladly fill them out for you.
A guarantee will be granted for all dental restorations in the form of a warranty card. You will find more information on our guarantee policy in the Guarantee menu point.
